MongoDB is a free, open-source, document-oriented database. The mFi Controller software requires the MongoDB package to be installed.
- Install MongoDB, using the following package install command:
sudo apt-get -y install mongodb
The installation takes several minutes to complete, but is fully automated.
- Stop and disable the default MongoDB database instance, using the following commands:
sudo systemctl stop mongodb sudo systemctl disable mongodb
Without making this configuration change, you will have two separate instances of MongoDB running; an unused default database instance, and the mFi database instance. This is obviously not desirable on a device with limited resources, such as the Raspberry Pi.
